Avery's "Sloppy Seconds"
ESPN – Dallas Stars’ Sean Avery suspended 6 games without pay by NHL.
I think this is hilarious. It’s OK to beat the shit out of a fellow player in front of 25,000 people, but a little off-color comment gets you 6 games off. Pro sports is just too politically correct these days. They’re trying to make the athletes something they’re not. Let them play and say what they like. I think it’s more fun that way.
The quote that got him the 6 game suspension, if you’re not familiar with the situation. He said this before the game to a live TV crew. Supposedly, he was just trying to fire up the guys for the game that night.
“I’m really happy to be back in Calgary; I love Canada. I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don’t know what that’s about, but enjoy the game tonight.”
The “sloppy seconds” he was referring to is Elisha Cuthbert, who starred in The Girl Next Door and 24. She is pretty hot.

I don’t think the NHL cares about trash talk, I think they care about the FCC. Tell yo gov’ment to quit with the prudish ways.

Wait, “sloppy seconds” is against the FCC? Since when?
